Scrutinising the HCPC: criticism, data and progress.
Internationally accessible reporting and official data about the UK regulator, not an exhaustive census of every article. Strong criticisms are featured and checked against primary sources, methodological limits and the regulator's responses. No personal practitioner cases are identified here.
What the evidence shows
The 2025/26 independent oversight review records 16 of 18 regulatory standards met, but continuing fitness-to-practise delays and inconsistent support. Public HCPC committee minutes additionally record 748 service complaints in 2024/25, up from 433 the previous year. These service complaints must not be confused with allegations against registrants.

Research boundaries and corrections
Published research is not proof of wrongdoing in an individual case. Findings are dated; retrospective periods, source publication dates and later remedial actions may differ.
